What's involved? |
Each evaluation is tailored to the individual needs and referring concerns for the child. A complete evaluation includes a developmental and social interview with parents, full review of school and medical records, full evaluation, written report with home and school based recommendations and a parent feedback session. A typical evaluation is $6,000 and is paid at time of the initial testing session. A statement is provided with a diagnosis code to submit to insurance. Additional services including: consultation to parents, attendance at IEP/504 meetings, consultation to schools, etc. is available at an additional hourly rate.

What is tested? |
Cognitive aspects include intelligence, language skills, visual and verbal memory, working memory, attention and concentration, eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills, planning and problem solving ability, management, organizational skills, flexibility and adaptability (executive functioning).
Academic skills include reading (phonetic skills, sight vocabulary, reading comprehension), spelling, writing, mathematics (basic numerical operations, mathematical reasoning), academic fluency (speed of reading, writing, calculating), listening comprehension and oral expressive skills. Psychological aspects may include personality dispositions, coping style, anxiety, depression and psychopathology. |
